Comment:
Can you believe how quickly the time has flown by? After high school, I went to Seattle Pacific College for a year, majoring in Engineering Physics, and then transferred to the U of W where I majored in Electric Engineering, graduating in 1964. After graduation, I went to work for NASA in Houston, Texas. I created the system design for the Apollo ground communications network and was in the Control Center when we landed on the moon. In my last NASA position, I had technical management responsibility for the Space Shuttle communications and data system. When all of these systems were tested and operational, I left NASA (after 20 years there) and, with a partner from NASA, founded the first of four companies that I either co-founded or founded. We created a lot of technical firsts in these companies, first in Houston and then, later, in San Diego, CA. After 20 years in San Diego, my wife and I moved to Virginia Beach, VA for around 4 years to try to rescue a technology company that was on life support. Unfortunately, the company was too far gone but, after its bankruptcy, I bought some new technology I had developed from the bankruptcy court. That technology is the heart of bVoice Corporation, hopefully, my last start-up company. My wife, Reba, and I have a beautiful waterfront house on Orcas Island, where we have lived for the last seven years.  One of these days, I'm going to retire. :>)  We have a boat and love to cruise in the San Juan Islands, Gulf Islands and other BC areas, such as Desolation Sound. We still enjoy skiing and skied last year in Big Sky, Montana. The "now" picture was taken about two years ago. We had a great time in high school and these times still bring back fond memories.

After high school, Gail attended Western Washington University.  Through the years she has worked part-time in numerous sales, customer service and clerical jobs.  She worked as a real estate agent in Seattle.  Dick was owner of Shilshole Texaco Marine in Seattle Her favorite activities are attending the ballet, opera, REP Theatre, boating, skiing and aerobic exercise classes.  Someone told her that having your husband retire is like having a grand piano in your kitchen! … and she says it is true!  Since retirement, Gail & Dick remodeled and moved to their beach house. They do lots of fishing, crabbing, and boating, etc. They also have a boat moored at La Conner, so spend a lot of time in the San Juan Islands.  They have done a great deal of traveling all over the world and have seen many wonderful places.  Gail paints and exhibits her work around the area. She also is very involved in crafts, golf, sewing and sits on two board of directors for their community.  They have a daughter, son and two grandsons, one is 15 yrs. old (6' 3") and the other  is 5 yrs. old.

Margaret A. Marshall ( Faculty)

Marital status: Married
Occupation: Seattle Educ Assn/WEA
Comment: The safety Commission of Lake Forest Park claims some of my time along with various other issues that require meetings at our home such as emergency prepardness.  In addition socializing with an efficent RHS reunion committe and having my Rose Ministries marrying endorsement are enjoyable.  Beside these, are two duplicate bridge groups which I co-facilitate.  Because one of the groups desired earning master points it was necessary for me to study and to pass the National Bridge Director's test.
Another challenge was to learn to skipper our sailboat with some of my women friends.  My basis for happiness is a sense of humor and appreciation for the gift of life,  love and hope.

I plan to attend if my family reunion, in the midwest, is not at the same time.  This class was very memorable and special!

Comment:
Spent many years at U of Idaho, meeting Carole and graduating 1965 to Army opportunities in Germany and Vietnam.  Law school at Northwestern in Portland included marriage to Carole, the 1968 Shoreline Reunion, clerkship, graduation and bar passage by 1971. Practiced law for a few years, we produced two sons, and I did administrative law judging until 1977. We founded a Portland-area messenger service, and took turns with the government in running same until retirement in 2008.  Along the way some writing, sailing, 1983 Reunion, finally have the pilot's license, travel whenever, and still do community work.

Very best to all on the occasion of the 55th Reunion, and special thanks to you who mentored and showed me the best way forward.

Comment: Hi to all My Dear Friends and Class of 58.

What a delightful surprise to get a call from Coralee Carter (Knutson) this evening about the Class Reunion in 2008.  I knew who she was immediately when she said her name.  She was the first friend I ever made in the US after emmigrating from Canada in 1948.  We walked to and from Ridgecrest Elementary School every day in the third grade!  How could I ever forget her?

I think the last I saw any school friends was at our 25 year reunion.  Since then, well in 1990, I've been living very happily as a single woman.  I went to college (University of Alaska Fairbanks) for a few years to increase my skills and landed a job in the Alaska State Legislature.  I was a legislative aide for about 8 years and retired in 2001.  It was quite an experience being in the thick of things in the political arena, and working and dining with state leaders, and often with congressional leaders as well.  So, whatever you do, when we meet, don't get me started talking about politics!  *grin"

Meanwhile, being a Sweet Adeline has been one of my favorite hobbies.  I've been singing with our chorus since 1972 and also singing in quartets since 1973.   I'm still in a barbershop quartet.  My quartet is called "The Velvets".   I'm the oldest one in the quartet, but, oh well, but I've stopped having birthdays so no problem there.

Oh, I have four children, three boys and a girl, six grandchildren and one great grandchild.  One of my sons is living in Seattle with his family, and my other children live here in Alaska.  I live in Fairbanks.

I'll have to find a picture of myself back in the 50s, but I did upload a photo of my quartet, which was taken only a few weeks ago after a show.  I'm the second one from the left.

I so look forward to seeing everyone again in August 2008 at our f-f-f-fiftieth year celebration.  Was it really f-f-f-fifty years ago?  My gosh, it doesn't seem that long ago.

Much Love to all my old friends.  Can't wait to see you all.    Myrna
